Celtic Thunder MYTHOLOGY is the latest show from Celtic Thunder. Filmed on location at the Helix Theater in Dublin, it’s fitting that Celtic Thunder have chosen to return to their roots in order to film this musical odyssey.
The core theme of Mythology is found in the original opening number “Voices”, “Voices call from the old days, Voices tell from the past, Ancient laws and ancient old ways to recast.” It’s the story of the Celtic People, their legends, their culture and their stories. It’s the lifeblood of modern day Celtic people everywhere and the influences from our Celtic past, which are still carried in each one of us as part of whom we are and where we come from. Voices, quoted above, is a collaboration between Celtic Thunder Musical Director/Composer David Munro and world-renowned song writer Brendan Graham, who also wrote the international hit “You Raise Me Up”.
The set of Mythology is big; it’s dramatic and imposing. The new and the old combine. Modern catalyst images are projected onto ancient monolithic standing stones, a giant Celtic cross takes center stage and the tempo of the music is strongly echoed in the theatrical and moody lighting.
Mythology is by far Celtic Thunder’s most impressive production to date, bar none. All six Celtic Thunder principals feature prominently (Neil Byrne, Ryan Kelly, Keith Harkin, George Donaldson, Emmet Cahill, Colm Keegan) in Mythology, from haunting solo numbers such as “Carrickfergus”, “The Isle of Inisfree”, “Scarlet Ribbons”, “Katie”, “Carolina Rua” and “Now We Free” to rousing ensembles “The Boys are Back in Town”, “The Star of the County Down” and “The Rocky Road to Dublin”. There are also great original tracks that were written especially for Mythology, such as the opening number Voices, “Hunter’s Moon” performed in the show by Ryan Kelly and “My Land” the anthem which is the show’s powerful finale.
Celtic Thunder MYTHOLOGY will air on Public Television across the USA in March 2013. The CD & DVD releases will be out on February 19th. They will be available in Walmart, Target, Costco, Barnes & Noble & Amazon.
The special Deluxe 2 Disc versions will only be available as pledge gifts from Public Television Stations and the Celtic Thunder website.

Celtic Thunder are very pleased to announce that they will be performing an exclusive unplugged Benefit Concert in NYC on Monday December 3, 2012, with all proceeds going to the victims of Hurricane Sandy.
It is going to take billions of dollars to repair the effected areas on the east coast and take time to do it. But 49,000 people are still displaced, out of their homes having lost everything. Winter is coming, it’s getting colder and families need to be housed and start picking up the pieces of their lives. PbJ One Year On

A year after the release of “Pale blue Jak – Faces” I look back on what has been the most manic year of my life.. no time to sit still.
As I have said before.. I feel a song is only born when it has been recorded and the same goes for an album. There is nothing like having that tangible first print of what will be there forever and be proud of it.
The thousands of comments, letters and cards expressing love for “Faces” has been the success in what I set out to achieve and gives me the fuel to carry on doing what I want to do most. It`s hard to put into words the feeling of gratitude, I have been in awe of what “Faces” has done for some people, what it has added to their lives “In your own words”.
I guess that is what is special about it, that is what matters.
Writing PBJ songs on the road and anywhere I have time is what I will be doing and you will be happy to hear there are a lot of new concepts in the bag… I have whole hearted intentions to bring out PBJ 2 and it`s only because of the support I have had over the last year. Like any singer/songwriter I want to deliver something that will be close to your hearts.
Some of you have been wondering what all of those funny animals on the Pale blue Jak facebook page mean… Well for the past number of months I have been working with a very talented animator to create a colourful visual representation of Mr Ace. The animated music video will be ready soon, with just the finishing touches to be applied. I am so excited to share this video with you and hope you will enjoy it and help to spread it all around the world.
December will bring the end of this Celtic Thunder Fall tour and the start of a new “Acoustic by Candlelight” tour with my CT bro Ryan! We cannot wait to take it to new places and meet all of you as we go. Rehearsals have restarted recently and we are buzzing about it already. Hope you can join us.

Time for a Catch-Up

Hi All,
It feels like the Fall Tour was only a couple of months ago when really the Fall Tour, Tranquility Cruise, Australian Tour, promo tour and Acoustic by Candlelight Tour have all been and gone since.
I have to say this year so far had been one of my happiest times. To be on the road spending so much time with my CT buddies, some people might think that it would take it’s toll regarding living in each other’s pockets… when in fact we are very close and have great craic.
When the news came through about Ryan’s accident we where all completely thrown and devastated to here our buddy had been hurt and all we wanted to hear that he was going to be fine. It has been a very hard time for everybody and thank God all our prayers are being answered, Ryan is doing well and on the road to recovery. Respecting the wishes of Ryan’s family was the most important thing to do and privacy was a must as it is a family time. Everybody deals with these things in different ways. I felt that I could not post up my everyday endevours online as all that was on my mind has been Ryan’s form. Alot of you guys have been asking me why I have not been online in a while. I felt I owed you an explanation. You have all been amazing with your support and prayers. I have read as many of your messages as I can, thank you so much for supporting me and all the guys it really means the world to us and never goes unnoticed that you are always there for us. It’s truely evident that CT has the most loyal and caring fans. I apologise for not getting back to you… but under the circumstances I hope you understand. The main thing is that Ryan is recovering, our prayers are needed for a full recovery. Can’t wait to have him back on stage.
At the end of the week we head to Dublin airport to fly to Atlantic City for ten CT shows, it’s going to make a change being resident for two weeks!
Hope to see some of you there, if not we always have the upcoming Fall Tour, that won’t be long coming around either.
I need to start packing now, I think it’s shorts and t-shirts all the way.

Hi All,
April showers is right… it’s lashing rain, another good day to work on some up and coming “Pale blue Jak” compositions… now is the time because come May 6th myself and Ryan will make our way to Dublin airport to fly to the Big Apple to start another of our acoustic tours. It has been an exciting time putting together our own travel plans, venues, hotels etc even though a bit stressful sometimes. Everybody has been so helpful posting up and emailing venue recommendations, thank you so much for that, it has helped no end…
The only problem myself and Ryan have been left with is that we cannot get to every place that has been suggested. We will be starting our venture and finishing on the East Coast of America due to some promotional interviews. We have made provisional plans to tour the West and South US and also Canada between CT tours, plus we would really like to take in some parts of Europe and even Australia if possible. We really want to give everyone a chance to get to a gig.
Last night I sat up late reading letters and cards sent from all over the world to my PO Box. I can’t begin to tell you all how appreciative I am of your support… because of the large volume of mail it is pretty impossible to write back with the time given but just to let you know that I do read everything and I know the rest of the guys do too.
Mr John will be uploading more post box videos as we go.
Well guys, it has stopped raining, the sun has come out, I think I’ll get a stroll in the park before getting back to the recording, I can always hear things much clearer on my return, but sure isn’t that the same for everything
